| Description: | TouchPoint Autsim Services has an immediate need for a Training Specialist. The Training Specialist is responsible for conducting workshops, in-services and consultations to families, professionals, school districts, and individuals with autism. The Training Specialist will also assist the Training Coordinator in carrying out duties and responsibilities of the Training Department. The Training Specialist will primarily work independently at a variety of locations, including client homes and schools, in the St. Louis area with little supervision. |
| Duties: | The Training Specialist will complete a Master Training Program through TouchPoint Austism Services to develop a deep understanding of our organization and culture. Some main duties include; taking data on behaviors and skill acquisition, assessing/teaching skills in all developmental areas, grading homework, completing checklists, and assessing competency. The Training Specialist will conduct trainings, workshops and in-services to the community, professionals, client families and other agencies. They will provide in-home family support and training, including issue specific training and crisis intervention. The Training Specialist will attend IEP meetings as requested. Report writing, data tracking and putting together presentations are key components to this role. Availability to work a minimum of 2 week nights each week is required along with some occasional weekend hours. |
| Qualifications: | Those interested in the Training Specialist position with TouchPoint Autism Services should be proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet searches and email. Exceptional organizational and public speaking skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and effective communication are keys to success in this role. A Bachelor�s Degree in Human Services or related field is required; a Master�s Degree is preferred. Previous experience working with individuals with Autism or other developmental disability and a proven history conducting workshops, in-services, and/or consultations is a real plus.
